Strategy Resumes Bitcoin Accumulation with $370M Purchase
Strategy has resumed its corporate Bitcoin accumulation program after a two-month hiatus. The company purchased 4,603 BTC for approximately $370 million at an average price of $80,318 per coin.
This acquisition brings Strategy's total Bitcoin holdings to 845,050 BTC, acquired for a cumulative $63.3 billion at an average price of $75,413.
The purchase was funded through the net proceeds of a $602 million common stock sale, with part of the funds allocated to increase USD cash reserves and another portion used to repurchase Strategy's preferred STRC stock.
STRC trades below its intended par value of $100, which can impact the company's ability to raise capital through STRC sales. As a result, Strategy may need to adjust its dividend terms to attract buyers and maintain the instrument's pricing.
