Strategy Resumes Buying Bitcoin Amid Market Rally
Strategy, the software firm turned corporate crypto vehicle, has resumed buying Bitcoin after a brief pause. The company's latest disclosure shows it purchased 950 coins for nearly $76 million last week, its first acquisition in about three weeks.
This move pushed Strategy's total stash to 846,000 Bitcoin, a figure that now represents roughly 4% of all the Bitcoin that will ever exist.
Bitcoin surged more than 6% in 24 hours to nearly $86,000, pushing Strategy shares up almost 9% to $167. The company also spent $174 million repurchasing its preferred shares, known as STRC, cutting its future dividend obligations.
