Strategy's $297M Bitcoin Movement Deemed Internal Transfer by Fidelity
A recent movement of over $297 million in Bitcoin sparked speculation that Strategy was selling its holdings. However, Arkham analyst Emmett Gallic clarified that the transactions were internal transfers within Fidelity's custody infrastructure and not sales or transfers to an outside counterparty.
The large outbound wallet movement was flagged by Lookonchain, which asked whether Strategy was 'dumping BTC again' or simply moving funds between wallets. This distinction is crucial because Strategy has become a more active seller this year after years of accumulation.
Strategy's history of selling small amounts of Bitcoin, including 6,916 BTC over the summer and 32 BTC earlier this year, made Tuesday's $297 million movement immediately more sensitive.
