Strategy's Bitcoin Holdings Turn $13B Loss into $1.4B Gain
Michael Saylor's Bitcoin treasury company Strategy has seen its massive Bitcoin holdings turn from a $13 billion underwater loss in July to an unrealized gain of roughly $1.4 billion, or 2.4%, with the current price of BTC above the company's average acquisition price.
The turnaround comes after a five-day rally pushed BTC prices up, and Strategy sold 6,948 BTC for roughly $432.5 million since May as part of its shift in managing its Bitcoin treasury.
Strategy held 840,447 BTC at an average price of $75,385, worth around $64.97 billion, with the current price of BTC trading around $77,000.
The rebound follows a shift in how Strategy manages its Bitcoin holdings, including selling some BTC and raising $334 million through MSTR share sales to increase its dollar reserve to $4.8 billion.
