Strategy's MSTR Stock Falls Amid Plans for Fresh Bitcoin Bets
Strategy's (MSTR) stock price declined to $97 as the company plans to resume buying Bitcoin in 2026. Despite recent treasury sales, Strategy holds a substantial amount of Bitcoin, totaling 840,447 BTC after two recent sales that generated $213.3 million.
The company's dollar reserve has increased to $4.65 billion, providing more flexibility for preferred dividends and share repurchases. This move has sharpened the focus on Strategy's capital model.
Strategy CEO Phong Le stated that the company plans to buy more coins despite facing tighter financing conditions due to Bitcoin price weakness. The premium between MSTR stock and its holdings' value has compressed, making new equity issuance challenging when shares trade below modified net asset value.
