Strategy's Saylor Teases Another Bitcoin Purchase After Four-Week Buying Pause
Michael Saylor, CEO of Strategy Inc, has posted yet another cryptic message on X regarding the company's Bitcoin holdings. The latest post, his fifth since the last confirmed purchase on June 22, features a chart showing Strategy's Bitcoin acquisition history with the caption 'We're gonna need another color'. This comes after a four-week buying pause, the longest in two years for the company.
Strategy holds 843,775 BTC at an average cost of $75,476 per coin, which puts its position roughly $8.6 to $9.3 billion underwater with Bitcoin trading near $64,600-$65,000. The company's decision not to buy more Bitcoin in recent weeks is a choice, as it can still sell up to $23.53 billion in additional common stock under existing at-the-market programs.
The pause in buying may be due to the company's new capital framework and mNAV redefinition, which deducts senior claims from the dollar reserve. This change was implemented on July 23, making previous figures non-comparable. Strategy reports Q2 results after the U.S. market close on Thursday, July 30.
