SUI and BCH Dominate Crypto Rally, Leaving BTC and ETH Behind
The cryptocurrency market saw significant gains across most large assets last week, with some notable exceptions. According to DailyForex, SUI and BCH led the pack, outperforming Bitcoin and Ethereum by a wide margin.
SUI was the clear leader among large-layer-1 assets, with a CoinMarketCap rolling seven-day return of +42.17%. This is more than three times the cleaned median return of +12.58% for this group. BCH also performed well, with a +36.10% gain over the same period.
Bitcoin and Ethereum, on the other hand, lagged behind their peers, with returns of +4.90% and +4.19%, respectively. While they remained above both daily trend references, their distance from these averages was significantly smaller than that of SUI and BCH.
The market's positive breadth reading is a key factor in this rally, with 87 out of the top 100 assets showing gains over the past week. However, the return distribution is uneven, with larger-cap assets underperforming their smaller counterparts. This has led to a widening performance gap between the leaders and laggards.
The next few sessions will be crucial in determining whether this rally can sustain itself. A continued decline in positive counts and lower cleaned median returns could indicate a fragile market, while stable or stronger breadth readings would give the current count more staying power.
