Sunday Gains May End in Monday Dump, Analyst Warns
Crypto analyst Ali Martinez has warned of a potential Bitcoin dump after a strong finish to the weekend. On Sunday, Bitcoin climbed over 1% after a weaker-than-expected U.S. jobs report, but this rally has set off alarm bells for traders. According to Martinez, there is a pattern of weekend price moves reversing direction on Monday.
A review of five recent trading sessions between late August and late September showed that Sunday gains were often followed by Monday declines, while Sunday losses were followed by Monday advances. For example, on August 29, Bitcoin gained 0.50% on Sunday, only to fall 0.68% on Monday. The opposite occurred on September 20, when Bitcoin ended Sunday with a marginal gain of 0.01% before slipping 1.12% the next day.
Martinez also highlighted a technical warning sign from the TD Sequential indicator, which has appeared on Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana. Previous signals like these have historically been followed by short-term corrections, with declines ranging from 1.74% to 5.40%. Key price levels to watch include resistance near $87,500 and support between $82,000 and $85,000.
