Super League Urges Shareholders to Back Metaplanet Deal Ahead of Vote

This upward trend was driven by lower oil prices and optimism surrounding tech stocks. Stock futures also reflected this positive sentiment, with S&P 500 Index futures up 0.5%, Dow Jones Industrial Average futures advancing 0.7%, and Nasdaq futures gaining 0.7%.
The US international trade deficit widened to $105.57 billion in August, surpassing expectations. This deficit was larger than the $92.83 billion gap recorded in July and exceeded the $102.1 billion forecast. In cryptocurrency markets, bitcoin saw a 0.7% increase, while several cryptocurrency ETFs experienced gains. The ProShares Bitcoin Strategy ETF (BITO) rose 1%, Ether ETF (EETH) advanced 1.6%, and the Bitcoin & Ether Market Cap Weight ETF (BETH) remained flat.
In the healthcare sector, the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) advanced 0.3%, and the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) gained 0.7%. Option Care Health (OPCH) shares surged 21% after McKesson (MCK) and CD&R agreed to acquire the company for approximately $5.80 billion. In technology, the State Street Technology Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLK) gained 0.7%, and the iShares Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) rose 0.5%. Xanadu Quantum Technologies (XNDU) shares climbed 7% following a multiyear deal with GlobalFoundries (GFS), which saw GlobalFoundries shares rise 1.4%.
