Tahnoon-Backed Entity Controls 49% Stake in World Liberty's Proposed US Trust Bank
Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his co-investors reportedly control 49% of the holding company behind World Liberty's proposed US trust bank. The Abu Dhabi backer is linked to StringZ Holding, which owns a 49% stake in WLTC Holdings.
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency granted preliminary conditional approval to World Liberty Trust Company on August 14, but final authorization still requires satisfaction of pre-opening conditions. The proposed bank would handle issuance, redemption, and custody of World Liberty's USD1 stablecoin.
Tahnoon previously backed a $500 million deal for a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial itself, which placed his linked capital among the company's largest shareholders.
