Tether AI Unveils Vision Model for Edge Devices with Impressive Benchmark Results
Tether AI has made significant strides in its push into decentralized artificial intelligence (AI) with the unveiling of its state-of-the-art vision model for edge devices.
The QVAC platform, Tether AI's core SDK and runtime environment, enables on-device AI inference and training, allowing computers to run AI models locally without sending data to someone else's servers.
The latest updates to the QVAC platform include TurboQuant, a quantization optimization that delivers up to 5x memory efficiency improvements. This means larger, more capable models can be deployed on consumer-grade hardware that would otherwise struggle to handle them.
Tether AI's QVAC MedPsy models, launched in May 2026, have shown impressive results in medical benchmarks, outperforming Google's MedGemma by 11.42 points. The larger 4B parameter variant hit 70.54 on the same benchmarks while maintaining significantly lower resource requirements.
The QVAC platform is open-source and incorporates support for payments through USDT and Bitcoin within its framework. This enables micropayments for model access, compute resources, or specialized fine-tuning services without touching traditional payment rails.
