Tether Surpasses $1.5B Net Profit Amid Record Reserve Growth

Tether Holdings has reported a significant financial boost in the second quarter of this year, with a net operating profit of $1.5 billion. This impressive figure is largely due to the yield on US Treasury bills and other liquid assets used as backing for its stablecoin USDT.

The company's reserve buffer has also increased to a record-breaking $4.11 billion, surpassing what is necessary to settle the circulation of tokens. Moreover, Tether has expanded its physical gold holdings, now holding over 146 tons of the precious metal.

This growth in reserves and profitability demonstrates that even under regulatory scrutiny, there remains a strong demand for stablecoins like USDT. As the largest stablecoin issuer, Tether plays a crucial role in facilitating global liquidity across various markets.
