Tether recently executed a significant transfer of $500 million USDT from Binance to its Treasury on July 30, 2026. The move was first reported by the well-known on-chain tracking account @whale_alert.

The transaction involved a nine-figure sum of USDT moving from Binance's hot wallet to Tether Treasury. According to on-chain data, the exact amount transferred was 500,000,000 USDT, valued at approximately $499,387,500 USD.

Market analysts suggested that the most likely explanation for the transaction was a routine technical cross-chain swap, with the exchange returning excess tokens on the ERC-20 Ethereum network to receive the same amount on faster and cheaper networks to meet traders' growing margin demand.
