THORChain Denies Request to Block Suspected Hacker's Account

THORChain has rejected a request from Bitget to block a hacker who stole $6 million in cryptocurrency. The request was made to prevent the stolen funds from being laundered or transferred to other accounts.

In a statement, THORChain explained that it does not have the capability to freeze individual user accounts, citing its decentralized nature and emphasis on user autonomy.

Bitget had requested that THORChain block the hacker's account, but the request was denied. The stolen funds were reportedly transferred to Bitcoin in the wake of the hack.
