Three cryptocurrencies, Arbitrum (CRYPTO: ARB), NEAR Protocol (CRYPTO: NEAR), and Chainlink (CRYPTO: LINK), have surged in recent months and are positioned for long-term growth. Over the 90 days ending October 7, Arbitrum climbed 100%, NEAR rose 164%, and Chainlink jumped 64%. Each of these tokens converts usage into value, making them attractive for investors looking to hold for five years or more.
Arbitrum benefits from a partnership with Robinhood, which launched its blockchain using Arbitrum’s technology. In exchange, Robinhood sends 10% of its net protocol revenue to Arbitrum’s ecosystem, with 8% going to a treasury managed by token holders. This revenue stream, which accounted for 35% of Arbitrum’s income in July, could fuel long-term growth projects and ecosystem initiatives.
NEAR Protocol stands out with its Intents system, which simplifies cross-chain token swaps. The protocol generated $7.3 million in fees in September, using a portion to buy back NEAR tokens. Despite a $3.8 million hack in October, NEAR’s price recovered within three days, demonstrating resilience. Intents has handled over $22 billion in swaps across more than 35 blockchains, charging fees each time.
Chainlink, a data oracle, provides critical information like asset prices to smart contracts. It earned $4.4 million in revenue over 30 days through October 8, all of which was used to buy back its token. Chainlink is betting on the growth of tokenized assets, a market expected to reach trillions by 2030. With no real competition in the oracle segment, Chainlink is well-positioned for future expansion.
