Tokenization Puts Maritime Shipping Within Reach of Smaller Investors

Share

Maritime shipping has long been one of the most capital-intensive and exclusive asset classes in global finance, with single dry bulk carriers or container ships costing anywhere from $30 million to over $100 million.

Al-Marri's approach allows smaller investors to access previously unreachable markets by fractionalizing physical assets on the blockchain.

However, Al-Marri cautions that tokenization is neither a loophole around regulatory guardrails nor a magic cure for asset illiquidity.
