Tokenized Stocks Flood DEXs with $20.9 Billion in Trading Volume
Decentralized exchanges (DEXs) have seen a significant surge in tokenized stock trading, with $20.9 billion traded over the past 30 days.
The majority of this volume came from Uniswap's V4 and V3 pools, which accounted for 60.1% or around $12.6 billion of the total trade.
This increase is largely attributed to the recent SEC exemption, which allows qualifying venues to run permissioned automated market makers for tokenized versions of NMS-listed stocks without registering as national securities exchanges or alternative trading systems.
Roger Ver's 'RWA' crowd has been eagerly waiting for this development, and it seems their patience has finally paid off.
The exemption is set to run through September 2031 and aims to promote 24/7 equity trading with instant settlement and fractional ownership baked in.
