Tokenized Stocks on Base Hit $100M Daily Trading Volume

Tokenized stocks on Base have hit $100 million in daily decentralized exchange (DEX) trading volume, a significant milestone for the platform. This achievement comes just 26 days after tokenized versions of major US stocks were launched on Coinbase's Ethereum layer-2 network, with cumulative trading volume exceeding $228 million.

The tokens available on Base include Nvidia (NVDAc), Apple (AAPLc), Alphabet (GOOGLc), and Meta (METAc), all following the B20 standard and backed 1:1 by actual shares held in custody by Alpaca, a brokerage infrastructure provider. The bulk of this activity is flowing through Aerodrome, the dominant DEX on Base, which has captured over 77% of all tokenized stock trading volume since launch.

The ability to trade tokenized stocks around the clock and acquire fractional amounts of NVDAc as collateral in DeFi protocols may be contributing to their popularity. Traders can also lend or pair these tokens in liquidity pools to earn trading fees, creating new revenue streams for participants.
