TradFi Futures Surge Past Bitcoin in Binance Volume
The cryptocurrency derivatives market is experiencing a significant shift as perpetual futures tied to traditional finance (TradFi) assets have surpassed Bitcoin in trading volume on Binance, the world's largest crypto exchange.
According to data from K33 Research, TradFi-linked perps reached a 30-day average trading volume of $15.59 billion, nearly double the $7.39 billion recorded for Bitcoin perpetual futures over the same period.
This marks a significant increase from the start of the year when such products averaged around $3 billion in daily volume, and indicates a broadening of market interest beyond Bitcoin.
The trend suggests that market participants are seeking alternative avenues for leverage and hedging, potentially due to a lack of direct catalysts for Bitcoin price appreciation in the near term.
