TradFi Perps Take Over Binance's Top 15 by Volume
TradFi perpetual contracts have taken over Binance's top 15 by volume, with ten out of fifteen being linked to equities, ETFs, and commodities. This shift reflects Binance's goal of creating a multi-asset financial super app where users can access crypto, tokenized securities, and traditional asset classes within a single account.
The SANDUSDT perpetual contract, which tracks SanDisk, leads the list with approximately $6.87 billion in 24-hour volume as of August 19th at 9:00 am UTC. This represents about 22% of SanDisk's 24-hour trading volume on Nasdaq.
Binance's move to offer USDT-margined perpetual contracts on stocks, ETFs, commodities, and more has effectively extended crypto-style round-the-clock trading to assets previously confined to traditional market hours.
