Treasury Debt Shift Could Spark Explosive Catalyst for Bitcoin
Analyst Sean Farrell from Fundstrat believes a potential shift in US Treasury debt could be a 'explosive catalyst' for Bitcoin. He is watching for a Treasury announcement around November 2, which may indicate a reduction or suspension of 10- to 30-year debt issuance. If this happens, it could lead to currency debasement, driving Bitcoin higher.
Farrell sees tokenization as a positive trend, particularly for Solana (SOL), Aave (AAVE), Uniswap (UNI), Aerodrome (AERO), and Kamino (KMNO). In the last six months, these DeFi tokens have outpaced Bitcoin, with Uniswap leading the rally, rising over 189%, followed by Aerodrome Finance at 157%, Kamino at 129%, and Aave at 93%, while Bitcoin rose 27%.
Farrell points out that a shift in Treasury debt could be stimulative, creating money in the private market and leading to currency debasement. He notes that the US has a debt-to-GDP ratio above 120% and a deficit of six to 7% of GDP that is set to widen, with the 10-year yield at its highest level since 2007.
