Treasury Debt Shift Seen as 'Explosive Catalyst' for Bitcoin
Fundstrat's Sean Farrell sees a potential shift in U.S. Treasury debt as an 'explosive catalyst' for Bitcoin, citing a possible reduction or suspension of 10- to 30-year debt issuance.
This move would feed currency debasement, which he argues drives Bitcoin higher. The next quarterly refunding announcement is expected around November 2, and Farrell is closely watching the Treasury's decision on long-term debt.
In contrast, DeFi tokens have surged far beyond Bitcoin in recent months, with Uniswap up over 189%, Aerodrome Finance up 157%, Kamino up 129%, and Aave up 93%. Bitcoin, on the other hand, has risen only 27% since April.
Farrell believes that tokenization will be positive for Solana, Aave, Uniswap, Aerodrome, and Kamino, citing their success in bringing real-world assets on-chain and attractive valuations. However, he also warns of a potential market consolidation if rate volatility fails to settle constructively.
