TruGolf Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: TRUG) has positioned itself at the forefront of tokenization by acquiring Polymath Research Inc. and its Layer-1 blockchain, Polymesh. This move comes as Wall Street's largest institutions, including BlackRock, push toward a tokenized market predicted to reach $13 trillion. The bottleneck for this transition is compliance, a challenge Polymesh is designed to address with built-in identity verification and regulatory controls.
Polymath has already demonstrated real traction, with over $132 million in tokenized assets issued, 65 active issuers, and 50-plus ecosystem partners. The company is also exploring a tokenized film investment platform with CineCity Studios, expanding its reach beyond golf and franchising. TruGolf plans to leverage Polymesh's infrastructure first within its own franchise network, launching an equipment leasing program funded through tokenized securities in early 2027.
The acquisition places TruGolf alongside industry leaders like BlackRock Inc. (NYSE: BLK), Nasdaq Inc. (NASDAQ: NDAQ), Intercontinental Exchange Inc. (NYSE: ICE), and Coinbase Global Inc. (NASDAQ: COIN). By using its franchise network as the first live deployment, TruGolf aims to prove the viability of its tokenization infrastructure before offering it to external issuers.
