Trump Family Cryptocurrency Venture Raises Questions Over Barron's Reported Earnings
Barron Trump, the 20-year-old son of former US President Donald Trump, is facing scrutiny over his reported earnings from World Liberty Financial, a family cryptocurrency venture. According to Forbes, Barron could have received close to $39 million before tax if he held an equal interest in the venture, which had sold at least $550 million in tokens.
The estimate is based on ownership assumptions and token sales, but the precise split between Trump's children was not publicly disclosed. Forbes previously reported that Donald Trump held a 52.5% personal stake in the venture, while unnamed family members held a further 22.5%.
The controversy surrounding Barron's earnings has been intensified by his father's changing position on cryptocurrency. The Inquirer editorial noted that Trump once called the sector 'a scam', before later backing digital assets as president and signing measures supporting the industry.
