TRUMP Token Drops 6% After Team Transfers Millions to Exchanges
The price of OFFICIAL TRUMP (TRUMP) has dropped by approximately 6% following reports that the token’s team has transferred 81.87 million TRUMP to centralized exchanges. This amount, valued at around $249 million at the time of transfer, represents roughly 8.2% of the total 1-billion supply and about 10% of the team’s original 800-million allocation. The transfers, which took place over roughly eight months, were sent to exchanges like Binance and OKX, with an average transfer price near $3.04 per token.
The news sparked concerns about potential supply overhang, as the team still controls around 718 million TRUMP, or 72% of the total supply. While the transfers do not confirm actual selling, they have significantly altered traders' perceptions of the token’s risk profile. The price decline coincided with the circulation of these reports, with TRUMP trading near $2.06 and experiencing a 5.8-6% drop in 24 hours.
There are no other strong, token-specific catalysts in the same timeframe that could explain the recent price move. The gala dinner and leaderboard contest for November 22, which had previously driven some price strength, is not considered a fresh trigger. Similarly, broader crypto market conditions and ongoing political criticism of the dinners do not appear to have significantly impacted TRUMP’s price in this instance.
The lack of competing catalysts makes the exchange-transfer narrative the clearest explanation for the recent price decline. Market participants are primarily reacting to the perceived insider supply risk and previously announced structural issues, rather than new developments.
