Trump's Cryptocurrency Reserve Sparks Global Economic Debate

The United States has made a significant shift in its approach to cryptocurrency, treating it as a permanent national resource rather than contraband. This change started when President Donald Trump signed an executive order establishing a strategic bitcoin reserve, which advisers have dubbed 'digital Fort Knox.'

According to sovereign data compiled by SpendNode and Bitwise Asset Management, the U.S. holds roughly 328,372 BTC, worth nearly $20 billion today.

The administration views this stockpile as a clean win for the country, reminding the public that it did not cost taxpayers anything.

Proponents of the reserve argue that anchoring American currency to bitcoin's strict supply limit will stabilize the U.S. dollar and create a psychological buffer against rival currencies.
