Trump's Truth API Spins Market Access for $100k a Month

Donald Trump's Truth Social platform has introduced a premium data product called Truth API, which offers earlier access to its posts for $100,000 per month. Five Wall Street firms have already signed up for the service, gaining milliseconds-long head start on publicly available information.

The arrangement raises concerns of insider trading, as President Trump stands to directly profit from the new recurring revenue stream. At five subscribers alone, Truth API would generate about $500,000 in monthly revenue, or $6 million annually.

Economics professor Gian Luca Clementi called it 'insider trading by definition.' Critics argue that Trump is monetizing information he possesses because of his office, effectively acting as a paid 'tipper' on the president's behalf. The arrangement fits a pattern of President Trump earning millions from cryptocurrency ventures and other businesses.

The Truth API system delivers a direct, licensed, real-time feed of the platform's most market-moving posts, which markets have long rewarded investors for receiving fractions of a second faster than competitors. Rep. Jamie Raskin launched an official investigation into the 'scheme,' accusing Trump of enriching himself and his family while destroying the integrity of financial markets.
