The UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has published its final guidance on crypto regulations, providing clarity on which activities will require authorization.

The new policy statement explains how the FCA's rules will apply to various crypto-related activities, including qualifying stablecoin issuance, trading platforms, and staking.

Firms currently registered under anti-money laundering (AML) rules will need to submit a fresh application if their activities fall within the regulated framework.

The authorization gateway will open on September 30, with a deadline for applications by February 28, 2027. Transitional arrangements are available for firms that meet certain conditions.
