Ultra-Wealthy Crypto Holders Reach Record High Amid Price Correction
The number of ultra-wealthy individuals holding significant amounts of cryptocurrency has reached an all-time high, according to a recent report from Henley & Partners. The Crypto Wealth Report 2026 found that 290 people worldwide have over $100 million in crypto assets, with Bitcoin being the dominant player.
The report highlights that 151 of these mega-holders hold their wealth solely in Bitcoin, demonstrating the growing acceptance of the oldest cryptocurrency as a long-term store of value. The total global crypto market capitalization stands at $2.6 trillion, with Bitcoin accounting for around 60% of this total.
The report also notes that despite the current price correction, which has seen Bitcoin trade 38% below its October 2025 peak, the number of people holding cryptocurrency continues to grow. An estimated 742 million individuals now hold some form of crypto globally, with roughly 371 million specifically holding Bitcoin.
