UNI Price Ripe for Breakout as CME Futures Listing and Fee Mechanism Ignite

UNI's price has been stuck in a compression zone between $8.55 and $9.26, but this is not just any ordinary trading range. The token's fundamental shift to a deflationary claim on live protocol fees and the upcoming CME futures listing are creating a perfect storm that could propel UNI to new heights.

The UNIfication governance proposal passed in December 2025 with a 99.9% approval rate, changing the token's purpose from a governance voucher to a deflationary claim on growing protocol fees. In the first seven months of 2026, the protocol captured $28.2 million of roughly $297.9 million in fees generated.

The CME Group officially announced the launch of UNI futures on September 22, pending regulatory review, and Uniswap commands 73% of all tokenized stock deposits on Robinhood Chain, having absorbed $82.8 million over the past 30 days.
