Uniswap founder Hayden Adams claims that Sam Bankman-Fried paid seven figures for the Uniswap.com domain, which was later redirected to SushiSwap. According to Adams, the original owners of Uniswap.com asked Uniswap to pay a seven-figure sum for the domain, but the team declined.

The domain was eventually purchased by Bankman-Fried and redirected to SushiSwap, a competing decentralized exchange that was created as a fork of Uniswap. The redirect created a risk that users could believe Uniswap Labs was connected to or endorsed the destination.

In September 2021, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) ordered Uniswap.com transferred to Uniswap Labs after finding bad-faith use by the respondent. The WIPO panel found that Bankman-Fried's purchase of the domain and subsequent redirect did not qualify as legitimate use.
