Uniswap Renounces Creator Fees from Employee Testing Tokens
Uniswap's founder Hayden Adams has announced that the team has renounced creator fees from employee testing on the Uniswap platform. This change affects tokens created during Pools testing, which were discovered and redirecting fees to an automated buy-and-burn contract.
The team had not expected these test tokens to be discovered, Adams said. The redirected fees are released as Ethereum (ETH), and anyone can claim the ETH by burning the corresponding token. This means that the claimant gives up tokens to receive ETH from the creator-fee stream, while the burned tokens are removed from circulation.
The change was made after TradePools launched on August 5th as a Uniswap launchpad on Robinhood Chain. The team is considering making this mechanism available to other deployers in the future.
