Uptober Momentum Builds, But Will Altcoins Keep the Pace?
Santiment, a cryptocurrency analysis platform, has weighed in on the 'Uptober' phenomenon, which suggests a strong altcoin market performance in October.
The platform evaluated recent data on the Bitcoin and altcoin market, pointing to notable signals in investor interest, whale movements, and market sentiment.
While Bitcoin rose by approximately 2.1% in the last week, some altcoins saw much stronger movements, particularly in AI, real-world assets, and large-cap altcoins.
The analysis found that despite Bitcoin's price strengthening, its visibility on social media has seen a significant decline, with conversations about Bitcoin on X, Reddit, Telegram, and other platforms decreasing by approximately 33% compared to the previous week.
Ethereum also saw a similar drop in social volume, approximately 33%.
Santiment noted that October being a historically strong period alone might not be enough for a bull run, and that independent catalysts such as ETF demand, regulatory developments, interest rate policy, and mass adoption could be more decisive in terms of price movements.
