US Has No Ownership Caps on Crypto Exchanges: SharpLink CEO

Share

SharpLink CEO Joseph Chalom recently spoke at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Yeouido, Seoul, and shed light on the U.S. regulatory landscape for crypto exchanges.

According to Chalom, who spent about 20 years leading digital asset business at BlackRock, there is no federal cap on ownership of crypto exchanges in the United States.

Crypto trading is subject to state law, and laws differ by state, but at the federal level, there is no such ownership ceiling, Chalom explained.

The U.S. GENIUS Act, which sets rules for stablecoins, takes effect on January 18 next year, marking a significant shift toward on-chain finance.
