US Judge Blocks Victims from Seized Bitcoin, Leaves Remission as Only Option
A federal judge has rejected nine victims' claims to 127,271 seized Bitcoin, leaving them without standing to contest forfeiture.
The decision was made by Judge Rachel P. Kovner of the Eastern District of New York on September 25, 2026.
The claimants failed to plausibly connect their lost funds to the specific seized wallets, and as a result, were denied permission to file late or contest the action.
The case began with a civil forfeiture complaint filed by the DOJ on October 14, 2025, alleging links to fraud and money laundering involving Prince Holding Group and its chairman, Chen Zhi.
