US Spot Bitcoin ETF Streak Ends with $148M in Outflows
The streak of consecutive inflows into US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) has come to an end, after nine days of net inflows totaling $3 billion. On September 30, there were $148.7 million in net outflows from the funds, with Fidelity's FBTC experiencing the largest net outflows at $125.6 million.
Despite this recent setback, the sector has seen a three-month streak of positive monthly inflows, with September recording $2.65 billion in net inflows. This is slightly lower than August's $3.52 billion in net inflows, but still a significant increase from earlier this year when there were two months of net outflows totaling almost $7 billion.
Major holders of Bitcoin include ETFs worldwide (7%), countries (2.46%), public companies (5.77%), private companies (2.1%), and mining companies (0.49%). These groups collectively hold nearly one-fifth of Bitcoin's total supply.
