USD1 Stablecoin Launches Natively on Canton Network for Institutional Settlement
World Liberty Financial has launched its USD1 stablecoin in native form on the Canton Network. This move enables the token to act as a 'cash leg' within transactions involving tokenized real-world assets (RWAs). The integration aims to streamline settlement for institutional workflows where multiple activities, such as derivatives collateral and asset issuance/redemptions, occur simultaneously.
The USD1 stablecoin is now available natively on Canton, positioning it for institutional use cases. World Liberty emphasized that native issuance allows USD1 to settle in the same transaction as tokenized assets while utilizing Canton's privacy and permissioning controls.
USD1 has a circulating market capitalization of approximately $4.05 billion, making it the sixth-largest stablecoin according to DeFiLlama. The token is managed by BitGo Bank & Trust for reserve oversight and minting/redemption processing.
