Verse8, Nexspace Host MapleStory Vibe Camp Season 2 with $15,000 in NXPC Prizes

Verse8 and Nexspace are hosting MapleStory Vibe Camp Season 2, a global game jam that will take place over four weeks from August 19 to September 15. The event has a total prize pool of $15,000 in NXPC, the token used by Nexon's blockchain subsidiary.

The competition is designed to encourage users to create games that can be grasped in under a minute and deliver tension without requiring complex instructions. Entries will be judged on their fun factor (40%), creativity (30%), and completeness (30%). The top games from Season 1, which were released in June, saw an average of 88,037 plays across 114 countries.

Verse8 has improved the review process for this season by introducing AI-powered review and additional staffing. This will reduce the review period to within 12 hours for most submissions, with a maximum of 24 hours. The company aims to provide publishing and follow-up support to help games created during the event become live services.

Verse8 has over 3.5 million monthly active users and 5,000 active builders on its platform, which allows users to build and distribute multiplayer games using natural-language prompts. In March, the company raised a $5 million seed round from various investors, including Nexspace.
