Visa Expands Stablecoin Cards into 100+ Markets as DigiTap Gains Momentum
Visa has expanded its stablecoin-linked card programs into more than 100 markets worldwide in collaboration with Reap. This move is part of a larger trend where payment companies are racing to make digital assets easier to use.
The global expansion was announced on September 23, and Reap will provide the necessary infrastructure for businesses to launch stablecoin-linked Visa credit card programs across new markets.
Visa notes that more than 160 stablecoin-linked card programs are live globally, with a payment volume increase of nearly 200% year over year in its fiscal second quarter. Stablecoin settlement has also reached a $20 billion annualized run rate.
DigiTap is another player in the crypto-to-explode race, with its beta app already downloadable and more than 10,000 cards issued before its Token Generation Event (TGE). The token, currently at $0.0589, has been independently audited by Coinsult and SolidProof.
