Visa Unveils Open-Source Cyber Defense System After Vulnerability Exposures

Visa has released its AI-powered cyber defense system, Visa Vulnerability Agentic Harness (VVAH), as an open-source tool. The framework was developed in response to a collaboration with Anthropic's Project Glasswing, which revealed over 10,000 high and critical vulnerabilities across industry systems.

The project started in April 2026, when Visa joined Anthropic's initiative to deploy its Claude Mythos AI model against the company's global payment infrastructure. Instead of quietly patching issues, Visa built VVAH as a structured response framework using an AI-driven pipeline.

VVAH operates on a zero-trust architecture, assuming every component has been compromised and verifying accordingly. The system uses deterministic controls and human oversight at each stage to find, prioritize, fix, and verify security flaws.
