Warren's Crypto U-Turn: Senate Democrats Reopen Clarity Act Talks
Senate Democrats have reversed their stance on the CLARITY Act, a bill that aims to regulate cryptocurrency. This shift in tone follows the Senate's failed vote on September 15, where 49-50 members voted against advancing the legislation.
Elizabeth Warren, a long-time critic of cryptocurrency, stated in a recent video: 'We need crypto legislation. I've been saying this for a long time.'
Democrats now seem willing to engage in negotiations on the bill, with seven senators seeking to reopen talks and several publicly supporting crypto legislation in principle.
Senator Thom Tillis, who voted against the bill, has kept the door open by making a procedural motion that could lead to a second cloture vote.
The current situation is seen as positive for the bill's prospects, with President Trump reportedly ready to sign the legislation if passed.
