Washington's Crypto Debate Unfolds as VeChain Price Remains Steady
The debate over cryptocurrency regulations in Washington has been ongoing for months, but it's not directly affecting the price of VeChain (VET). Despite the discussions, the market continues to reprice assets minute by minute.
On September 20, Binance listed VET at around $0.00816, a 5.08% drop from the previous day. The daily trading volume was approximately $25.2 million.
The proposed regulations by the SEC would create two exemptions for certain investment contracts involving digital assets. These exemptions would allow issuers to raise up to $5 million over four years and up to $75 million in a 12-month period, respectively.
The proposal is open for public comment, and if adopted, it could provide a clearer route for fundraising in the United States. This could influence access to capital across the sector, but individual tokens would still trade according to their own market conditions.
