Whale Buying Fails to Support Grok's Optimistic Dogecoin Prediction
Grok, an AI chatbot from xAI, predicts that Dogecoin will end October at $0.101, based on $110 million in whale purchases made in late September. This forecast suggests an increase of around 12% from its current price near $0.09. However, the price has already fallen below $0.093, triggering a bearish 'death cross' setup.
Whale wallets accumulated around 1.14 billion DOGE, valued at $110 million to $112 million, over a few days in late September. Despite this, Grok highlighted a weak spot in the whale case - Dogecoin-specific funds recorded a record weekly inflow of only $2.89 million during the last full week of September, representing just 0.02% of the total market value.
Dogecoin has no upper limit on its supply, with miners extracting 10,000 new DOGE for every block mined. This results in an annual addition of about 5.3 billion coins - worth roughly $475 million at current prices. One analyst has proposed a 2027 target of $0.05, assuming about 3% annual dilution.
