Whale Wallets Pile Up as CryptoQuant Sees Signs of Market Recovery
CryptoQuant's Smart Money report has found that large cryptocurrency holders have been quietly accumulating during the current bear market. BTC whale wallets grew by around 190,000 coins since December 2025, while ETH large holders hit a record 19.6 million ETH.
The pattern of rising whale balances during price weakness is often seen as a signal that large holders are positioning ahead of a potential market bottom. CryptoQuant's report suggests this dynamic has historically come before price recoveries, but notes that further losses are still possible.
Ethereum showed similar signals at an even larger scale, with wallets holding between 10,000 and 100,000 ETH collectively reaching a record 19.6 million ETH. BTC was trading above its realized price of $52,900, while ETH sat at $1,858, below its realized price of roughly $2,450.
