Whales Add $1.2B Worth of Bitcoin as ETF Inflows Hit $750M
Despite the delay in the CLARITY Act vote until September, Bitcoin ETFs have seen their best week since April, attracting over $750 million in inflows. Meanwhile, on-chain data shows large investors are quietly adding more BTC, with whales accumulating nearly $1.2 billion worth of coins since July 29.
Smaller investors, however, have continued to sell, with Santiment linking the weaker retail participation to the delayed CLARITY Act vote and Bitcoin's sideways price action. Whale buying while retail investors sell has often supported higher prices in previous market cycles.
Nexo analyst Liya Kalchev noted that institutions are buying carefully rather than chasing prices, saying 'Bitcoin still needs a convincing close above $65,000 before a stronger recovery can begin.'
