Willie Sees Path for XRP to Hit $1,000 Amid Bond Market Crisis
A macro analyst thinks XRP could reach $1,000 due to a brewing bond market crisis. Jim Willie argued that as countries become wary of holding debt from nations seen as devaluing their currency through heavy money printing, they'll seek neutral settlement assets for trade.
Nations may turn to alternatives like XRP instead of US Treasuries, according to Willie. He pointed out a recent announcement from the Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC) about Stellar's XLM helping manage settlement for certain stocks and bonds.
However, Willie flagged derivatives settlement, which he estimated at $4 trillion annually, with no confirmed asset assigned yet. If even 1% of this market were routed through XRP, it would require the token to trade at $1,000 to handle that volume in a functional way.
