World Liberty Financial Taps Ex-Robinhood Executive for Compliance Boost
World Liberty Financial, a decentralized finance (DeFi) project associated with the Trump family, has appointed Mack McCain as its chief legal officer and chief administrative officer. This move comes as the company continues to build out its corporate structure, including the establishment of World Liberty Trust Company, National Association (WLTC), a national trust company.
McCain brings experience in U.S. financial law and regulatory compliance, having previously worked at Robinhood as chief of staff to the chief legal, compliance and corporate affairs officer, and as deputy general counsel for regulatory matters. His background spans brokerage and crypto regulatory frameworks, aligning with World Liberty Financial's growing emphasis on compliance and trust operations.
The appointment signals a push toward institutional-grade governance and regulatory alignment, which could be critical for the project's credibility and long-term viability. By adding a seasoned legal and compliance executive like McCain, World Liberty Financial may help address some of the regulatory uncertainties that have historically plagued DeFi platforms.
