X Expands Trading Links to External Platforms
Elon Musk's X has expanded its U.S. Cashtag system to allow users to trade on five external platforms, connecting stock and crypto pages directly to popular trading apps.
The move is part of a wider effort by X to link financial conversations with actual order execution, as stated in the company's Business account post on Sept 22, 2026.
Through the new U.S. Cashtag Partner Program, users can tap 'Trade' after opening supported tickers like $BTC or $TSLA and access partner platforms such as Coinbase, Gemini, Kraken, Interactive Brokers, and Moomoo to complete trades.
The actual transaction takes place on the chosen partner's app or website, not on X itself, and users must sign in or create an account with the partner platform to execute the trade.
The rollout builds on an earlier feature called Smart Cashtags, which tied ticker symbols to real-time charts and dedicated asset pages.
