X Sues Bitcoin Influencers Over £207,000 Engagement Manipulation Scheme
X Internet Unlimited Company and X Corp have filed a lawsuit against two Bitcoin influencers and several unidentified individuals, accusing them of running a £207,384 scheme to artificially inflate engagement metrics on their platform.
The company claims that the defendants used multiple accounts and financial identifiers to collect payouts under the Creator Revenue Sharing program, posting identical or similar content, liking and reposting each other's posts, and creating an appearance of organic activity.
X says it paid at least £207,384 to participants in the alleged scheme, with the largest payout being £74,332 tied to the @Vivek4real_ account. The company is seeking damages, interest, and legal costs, as well as preliminary estimated expenses for investigation, analysis, and measures to prevent similar violations at no less than £75,000.
