X Sues Bitcoin Influencers Over Alleged £207K Creator Revenue Scheme
X, the company behind the X platform, has filed a lawsuit in the UK against two named defendants and unidentified account operators over an alleged scheme involving Bitcoin-focused accounts and creator payouts.
The company alleges that coordinated Bitcoin-focused accounts received at least £207,384 through its Creator Revenue Sharing Program by copying posts and boosting each other's engagement to increase payouts.
X suspended the disputed accounts on August 18 before filing the lawsuit on September 17. The company has since replaced Creator Revenue Sharing with a new Original Content Rewards program that bases payments on qualified impressions generated by original content viewed by Premium subscribers.
